I have been a faculty member at Seton Hall University, Stillman School of Business since fall 2023.
Previously I was a tenured full Professor of Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, and International Business; as well as the Director of the online MBA program at California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) for four years. Prior to that I was an Associate Professor of IB and/or Strategic Management for ten years, most recently at Cal State, Monterey Bay; and at Temple University, Fox School of Business, where I served as the Academic Director of the International Business undergraduate major (500 students).
I have extensive teaching experience with American institutions, including George Washington University, Tulane University, Baruch College-CUNY, as well as top French business schools (ESSEC, ESCP Europe, Sciences Po…), and executive education. I have also been a guest speaker on several US programs (including Wharton-Estée Lauder Institute, Babson College). During my doctoral studies, I was an instructor in strategic management and international business at University College Dublin (Ireland) for two years.
My research interests focus mainly on the area of “non-market strategies” (including corporate political activity, corporate diplomacy, corporate social responsibility, corporate philanthropy, corporate governance), as well as the intersection of entrepreneurship, social impact and public policy. My scholarly work has appeared in international refereed outlets such as Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Business & Society, International Business Review, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations, Long Range Planning, Strategic Organization. I have also presented papers at many international conferences, and have organized a number of international research colloquia/workshops pertaining to corporate political strategies and interest groups. I have been an Associate Editor of the AOM annual conference for a number of years, and am also on the editorial board of Business & Society and Long Range Planning.
I have received a variety of teaching, research, and service awards over the past two decades.
I have work experience with several French firms, and have acted occasionally as a consultant and trainer for multinational enterprises as well as trade associations.
I hold a PhD in Business Administration (with a focus on Strategic Management and International Business) from CNAM, a State University founded in 1794; a graduate diploma (with “laureate” distinction) from Sciences Po, and a BA in Economics from Paris-1 Sorbonne University (all located in Paris, France). I am also an alumnus of Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) de Cachan (now ENS Paris-Saclay, a unit of Paris-Saclay University).
